A Typical Day

Activities

At Eagle Island, life is unplugged—and that’s what makes it so special! Campers move at their own pace, exploring nature, making friends, and enjoying a relaxed, inclusive vibe.

While there’s plenty of action—sailing, swimming, kayaking, and more—there’s also time to slow down. Imagine card games in tents, arts and crafts on a boathouse porch, peaceful walks to the water, silly songs before meals, or spontaneous games with friends. These quiet, unstructured moments are just as special as the big adventures, letting campers unwind, connect, and make memories that last a lifetime.

Boating

Boating activities offer instruction on launching, steering, and docking, along with trips of various lengths plus free time for exploring.

Sailing

"I loved being at Eagle Island! I met so many new people and got to try so many new activities. I especially enjoyed sailing, spending time with my friends, and being around all the kind counselors!" — 2025 Camper

Swimming

Campers receive daily swim instruction.

“My daughter learned to swim, spent time outdoors, and made new friends. I’ve already seen positive changes in her personality and outlook.” — 2025 Camper Parent

Nature Education

Nature-based activities teach stewardship of the island, the Adirondacks, and the planet, including local plant and animal education, conservation efforts, and more!

Camper Choice Activities

Our counselors lead activities they’re passionate about, such as Spanish, drumming, reporting for our Eagles Eye newspaper, puzzles, knitting, kite-making, singing, dancing, and more!

Teambuilding

Team-building is essential for fostering a positive and inclusive camp environment. Campers learn to communicate, support, and trust one another as they work together to overcome challenges, solve fun puzzles, and create lasting memories.
