Housing

Housing Options

Campers will be housed together in small groups known at EIC as Groves. Over the week, they will live, play, and grow together with caring counselors living with them and guiding them through their camp experience. Staff members in charge of each Grove are housed in the same area as their campers (no more than a few hundred feet away). For example, all 5 cabins are no more than steps away from one another. One of these cabins is the staff cabin.

Campers request housing during registration. Groves (groups) are determined based on housing selection. Campers who wish to be together should select the same housing options. Our washhouses are equipped with electricity and running water — sinks, flush toilets, and showers (with hot water).

Shower House

Green Johns

The shower house has 7 showers and 2 toilets and personal space for campers to leave belongings. Our individual shower stalls each have a private changing area.

The green johns located behind the kitchen have 4 toilets. Campers also do daily quests to tidy up their living spaces.

Platforms Tents

Open-air canvas tents pitched on a raised wooden platform. Each camper will have their own camp cot and space beneath to store their belongings. Each tent houses up to 4 campers.

Campers who want a more authentic camping experience or those wishing to relive their camper days! In keeping with our unplugged philosophy, tents (and cabins) do not have electricity.

Hilltop Cabins

Our single-room cabins have 4 camp beds each, with a maximum of 4 people per cabin. A cabin is a more rustic camping experience, in a more enclosed space.

All sleeping quarters include a private changing pod for those seeking more privacy.

Cabins are also grouped together in a “grove” and have access to a shared bath house with toilets, sinks, and showers.

Historic Buildings

Eagle Island Camp is an Adirondack Great Camp originally designed for Vice president Levi P. Morton by William Coulter. Campers have the opportunity to lodge in many of our historic buildings. In the historic buildings each room houses between 3 and 6 campers on either camp cots or bunk beds. Each camper will have their own bed and a small space to store belongings. There is electricity for lights and staff sleep in a separate rooms in the same building.
