Adult Weekend FAQs

  • Any woman over the age of 18.

  • Eagle Island campers, staff and friends over the age of 18.

  • ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s Eagle Island campers, staff and friends over the age of 18. Unlike our other adult weekends, staff will not be able to help with transporting items such as luggage to/from the ADK/Islanders tent area (the only lodging available for this weekend). Campers will need to be able to transport their gear.

  • Get ready for a blast! Daytime and evening programs are on the menu every day. Structured programming can be yoga, guided hikes, or sailing. Unstructured programming may look like swimming, self-guided hikes, or crafts whenever they're up for grabs. Need some downtime? Snag a spot on our historic porches, dive into a good book, or chat away in the Lodge. Oh, and on Wellness Weekend, treat yourself to massages and facials for an extra indulgence. During Rustic Retreat programs, your time on the island is catered to you and your group!

  • Boats that do not require a boat trailer, such as canoes and kayaks, are welcome. You will need to paddle your boat to our beach, which is less than one mile away. Personal motorboats (including jet skis) are not permitted at this time.

  • Guests need to register individually but are able to request a friend to bunk with in the CampDoc profile.

  • All meals are prepared by the kitchen staff. More can be found on our Meals & Snacks page. Food that does not need refrigeration is allowed in lodging but must follow storage guidelines outlined in the Camp Policy. There are no other cooking facilities on the island.

  • Our camp is located on a 31-acre, wooded island (we are the only thing on the island) on the Upper Saranac Lake, a short boat ride from the mainland. Most of our programming happens outside and on the waters of Upper Saranac Lake. Campers sleep in platform tents, cabins, and/or historic buildings. Meals, evening activities, and rainy day activities take place in our historic buildings. There are multiple washhouses on the island with flush-toilets, showers, etc. (More details on our facilities can be found here.)

  • Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any furry friends on Eagle Island.

  • Each guest should bring a day pack to carry around supplies they will need throughout the day, such as bug spray, sunscreen, and most importantly, a refillable water bottle! Please use the packing lists below.
