Eagle Island’s influence on my life and career simply can’t be overstated. I began my career in finance, structuring fixed-income assets and later trading equities and fixed income for a financials-focused hedge fund. Eagle Island taught me how to think critically, which I applied to investing, and how to find connections between things and people to help better understand the markets and the world. When I bought my first real estate investment property, I was able to fix toilets, rebuild a deck, and install a new countertop – all thanks to skills I learned at Eagle Island.

I always envisioned myself working for an organization that encourages staff to be creative, emphasizes being outdoors, develops stewards of the Adirondacks, and allows anyone, from any walk of life, access to be a part of that organization. Eagle Island checks those boxes. This passionate community has been supportive, candid, and open to a new leader and the beginning of a new chapter for the Island.
