Paddling

  • Corcls

A fun circular boat that allows campers to more easily experience how different strokes work before trying their new skills in our kayaks or canoes. But really Corcls are just fun because the harder you paddle, the faster you spin!

  • Sit-on-Top Kayaks

A great introduction to paddle sports. These boats are very stable and allow campers to learn different strokes using a double-bladed paddle. These boats are available for campers to take out at free swim as well as in our paddling program.

  • Sit-in Kayaks

Once campers master our sit-on-top kayaks they move up to our sit-in kayaks. These boats slice through the water more easily and allow campers to go further from our swim area.

  • Canoes

A wonderful teambuilding challenge. Campers learn communication skills while navigating how to maneuver their boats from different positions in the canoe. Our paddling program takes our canoes on journeys all over Upper Saranac Lake.

  • Sunrise Paddles

A special event at Eagle Island. Campers wake up early and paddle around the island before breakfast taking in the beautiful views of the sun rising over the Ampersand Mountain range.

  • Off Camp Trips

Campers staying for 2 weeks or more may be eligible to sign up for a paddling trip from Eagle Island to Buck Island (also on Upper Saranac Lake) to camp out overnight before paddling back in the morning.
