Nature Walks
The Buz Nature Trail weaves throughout the island allowing campers to explore different ecosystems and places on the island. Campers are encouraged to slow down, take in the nature around them and participate in nature based games and activities along the way.
-
Nature Crafts
Leaf rubbing, fairy house building, kindness rocks, and using found supplies to create something new is a great way to get our hands dirty and explore the island around us. Campers are encouraged to use nature that is dead, down and brown to protect our natural environment.
-
Plant & Animal Identification
Eagle Island is home to a diverse array of species! Campers get the chance to identify different plants, animals, and tracks around the island. We even have red-backed salamanders that have lived here so long they might soon become a species unique to Eagle Island!
-
Ecosystem Exploration
From the lake, to the shore, to the forest, to the tops of our erratic boulders, there is so much to explore! Campers engage in a number of games and activities to experience more of what is available on Eagle Island.
-
Survival Skills
Campers safely learn the seven survival priorities including how to safely start a fire, find and purify water, build a shelter, and signal for help with what they have available.

Off-Site Hikes
Campers staying for 2 weeks or more may be eligible to sign up to go on a hike up a nearby Adirondack mountain for a day trip.
