Communicating With Your Camper While They are on the Island

Snail Mail

If you wish to send mail to your camper, it is a good idea to send it a few days before they arrive so that it will get here when they are at camp.

Our mailing address is:

Eagle Island Camp

(Your Camper’s Name and Camper’s Program)

442 Gilpin Bay

Road Saranac Lake, NY 12983

Pre-Written Letters

You can bring pre-written letters with you to check in. There will be a discreet drop off for the letters on Sunday when you drop off your camper. Make sure to address it with your camper’s full name and what day you would like it delivered to them.

CampGrams

CampGrams are a one-way communication tool you can sign up for. They cost the same as a postage stamp and you send the message online. We will then print it out and distribute them to your camper with the rest of the normal mail.

Care Package and Parcel Instructions

We ask that you refrain from sending items our woodland creatures would also find appetizing, this includes things like gum, candy, trail mix, chips, etc. Please do not send any food or drink products as we do not want to entice our islands outdoor creatures to come inside camper housing spaces. Fun ideas that you can can include are some of the following in your packages: stamps and letter writing supplies, coloring books and supplies, journaling supplies, fidget toys, warm fuzzy socks, a new water bottles, fun card games, etc.

Communication is extremely important to us.
Our leadership team is available to help ease any concerns or answer questions, especially while your camper is with us on the island. However, returning phone calls during the camp day can be difficult since we want our staff to spend their time outside with the campers providing the best experience possible. You can always text 518-323-9424 for a quick update and we will connect back with you after checking in with your camper’s counselors.
