Eagle Island values and creating our own empowering community

As a staff member at Eagle Island Camp, you will participate in a summer full of professional development and training because learning doesn’t end when the campers arrive. You will have the opportunity to learn the hard skills needed to keep a group of campers safe and engaged throughout their stay and gain experiences that will help you further your future career, in whatever direction you go.

At Eagle Island, we acknowledge that not everyone learns the same way. With this in mind, we strive to utilize a variety of teaching methods during staff training and when explaining activities we showcase to campers that the most important thing is to try and learn along the way.

By supporting you as a staff member, we hope that in turn you are able to support your campers. When campers feel heard and supported they are empowered to build the confidence needed to make new friends, try something new, and in turn support other young people both in and out of camp.
